Day 07 June 1 |

| Breakfast's a little slim but I make do with Raisin Bran and an apple. Maybe it will keep the doctor away - or at least some hunger. | ||

| I get SweetTreat ready to roll as we head off to church. When I am able I want to be in church on Sunday as my Lord tells me I should be in His Word. | ||

| I find the route again and I am making haste as I have about eighty miles to go to make it for the morning services. | ||
![]() |
| I figure the river ought to be over there somewhere ... | ||
![]() |
| But I have to stop and get a picture of this old 'Welcome to Arkansas' arch. | ||

| Finally I see the church off in the distance and I'll be there in good time. | ||

| Lone Oak is a local church near Blytheville which happens to be not far from the Great River Road. | ||

| I'm early, which I prefer to be but the folks that arrive are very kind and friendly to this old traveling hillbilly. I enjoy the old fashioned music and the good sound preaching. | ||

| But I've still got two hundred more miles to cover so I saddle up and continue to make my way south. As I do, it looks like the crops are doing quite well in this part of the country. | ||

| I see the sign that confirms I am headed the 'proper' way. | ||
![]() |
| But my timing is a bit off, as I get to this crossing just a few minutes late. This is a long one - so long they have an engine in the middle of the train. | ||

| It's past noon and it is hotter than blazes just sitting out here in the sun. Finally the end comes along and for that I am really thankful. | ||
![]() |
| I get up to speed as quickly as I can so I can feel some air moving before I melt down into one big blob. | ||
![]() |
| I pass this old house which catches my eyes and I wonder how old it is. The two big trees in front of it didn't grow to that size in a few years for sure. | ||
![]() |
| I know the only close restaurant to the motel is a Mickey Ds (McDonalds) so at my last gas stop I pickup some supper so I can dine in for the evening. | ||
![]() |
| I am real glad when I see this sign cause I've just about melted down and run into my riding boots from the heat of the day. | ||
![]() |
| The chicken tenders and taters I picked up early taste mighty fine sitting in my room with the air conditioning turned up to the 'hanging meat' temperature. | ||

| I have seen very little of the river today, just mostly small towns that have of lot of their old buildings boarded up. I catch up with my 'digital' chores for the evening then make my way to where the river flows sweetly in my dreams. | ||
