HILL COUNTRY 2025

Day 06

November 15

From the motel it is a short hop to get to the Natchez Trace which will take me all the way back to Nashville and within ten miles of the Holler.

I make my first fuel stop near Jackson and breakfast is slim pickings. But at least their fuel pumps work unlike the other stop I made on the way down.

Once again I pass by the Ross Barnett Reservoir and admire its beauty.

I have picked my own route around the construction on the Trace as their detour seemed a lot longer than it needs to be.

And my way proves to be quite a bit shorter than their way and a lot more direct. Soon I'm around all that and back on my beloved Trace.

Gas on the Trace can be a bit of a challenge, but since I have run it so many times in its entirety I have my gas stops figured out. I know this one at Tupelo has really good chicken fingers so after I tend to SweetTreat's needs, I fetch me a few of them fingers to munch on.

But I need to get to the Holler before dark so I'm back at it in short order.

Once again I cross the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway on my way back north.

Then my replacement camera dies on me for no apparent reason. This just firmly cements in my mind that I have to find a different camera solution when I get back. The rest of the ride is uneventful and quiet relaxing for me. But I am glad to be able to pull back into the Holler for
